According to the beliefs of Asian people, the largeness of ear lobes plays an important part in defining a person’s character or personality. For example, thick earlobes are often understood to indicate wisdom and longevity and future good fortune.
There are two techniques to enlarge ear lobes:
Filler such as restylane or fat tissue taken from a patient’s body. The drawback is that the result will not last long.
Local skin flap. A skin flap is collected from the area behind ears then transferred to the ear lobes. Scars are easily hidden.
Surgery is performed under local anesthesia and lasts between 30 to 45 minutes. Stitches are removed after 10 days. Recovery time is about 2 weeks.
